The article is devoted to modern ideas about research in the field of development and formation of sustainable tourism. The study suggests that sustainable tourism should create prospects for building long-term plans for its development in the future. There will be no tourism as an industry in the furure, if it does not rely on the principles of sustainable development, such as environmental protection, preservation of cultural heritage and respect for local communities. Tourism can be of great benefit if managed properly.
