The author of the article, relying on the Russian regulatory framework, provides key concepts related to tourist support, and on their basis formulates her own definitions. At the same time, attention is focused on the fact that the concept of &amp;ldquo;accompanying tourists&amp;rdquo; is not fixed in mandatory regulatory legal acts.&amp;nbsp; The article analyzes statistical information on inbound tourism in Russia published by the Federal Agency for Tourism, in particular, on the number of tourist arrivals of foreign citizens in the period 2014-2020. The choice of time frame is justified by the introduction of a new methodology of statistical accounting, as well as by the fact that during this period there was an increase in the number of incoming tourists to our country. Based on the analysis, individual countries and groups of countries with different official languages were identified, leading in the number of tourist arrivals to Russia. During the research and on the basis of the author&amp;#39;s experience of accompanying foreign tourists, the problems of this sphere of tourism, which are usually faced by guides and translators and tourist organizations, were identified. To conduct the research, the author turned to such methods as analysis, synthesis, observation, comparison. The use of these methods allowed us to organize the identified problems and divide them into several groups. At the same time, it was pointed out that many problems are not directly related to the linguistic characteristics of foreign tourists, and psychological aspects of accompanying tourists are of great importance. Based on the results of the characteristics of each group of problems, some ways of solving them were proposed. The practical significance of the research results lies in the fact that they can be applied in the courses of teaching international tourism, sightseeing, business foreign language and a number of other tourist disciplines. In addition, the proposed ways of solving the problems of tourist support for foreigners can be used in the work of travel companies.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>This study is devoted to the issue of accompanying foreign tourists in Russia and the problems arising in this process.
