The features and goals of educational organizations whose activities are based on the application of the concept of lean production are revealed. The authors consider the principles of development and application of lean technologies in educational organizations. Besides, they list the components of the platform model of the concept of a lean approach in an educational organization. The article presents a set of lean manufacturing tools, designed for use in educational organizations, with specific examples of their application to the processes of educational institutions. The article considers the positive experience of building a quality management system at Belgorod State National Research University (NRU &amp;quot;BelSU&amp;quot;), describes the process of involving, training and motivating staff, the procedure for determining the level of lean competencies. The article also reveals the practice of submitting approximations for improvements and the implementation of lean projects. Based on the analysis of the values of the indicators of NRU &amp;quot;BelSU&amp;quot; in the main areas of activity for 2018-2021, as well as the positions of the university in terms of the main indicators in comparison with the median values in 2021, the impact of the development of lean technologies on the performance of an educational organization was revealed.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The purpose of the article is to study the features of using lean production tools in educational organizations, to consider the practice of forming and implementing a lean production management system using the example of a higher educational institution, and to identify the relationship between the development of lean technologies and the achievements of the university.
