The nature of the right to housing largely coincides with the title to other immovable property, but at the same time, it differs in its particular specificity, resulting from the special importance of housing in meeting the vital needs of every person. In particular, the housing legislation contains more detailed regulations compared with general civil norms of ownership. The author examines the concept of the title to residential property, the nature of the right to housing in the legislation of Kazakhstan and Russia, and the similarities and differences in the legislative regulation of these relations in both countries.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>In the conditions of close coordination of the countries of the Customs Union, more and more questions of legislation correlation of these countries arise, including the questions of regulating the ownership relations.
