As a result of studying of methodological fundamentals of recreational geography and experience of use of GIS-technologies in tourism, the list of recreational occupations in forest areas of a forest-steppe zone and types of grounds necessary for realization of this activity was defined, the technique of an assessment of recreational value of lands of the forest fund taking into account provisions of the concept of a sustainable development of tourism, interrelations in the system &amp;ldquo;a natural complex &amp;ndash; engineering constructions &amp;ndash; the person&amp;rdquo; is offered, to functionality of use of these lands and the main properties of natural complexes, as various types of grounds.
