The development of Russian tourism is largely determined by the availability of ample resources: extended territory, climatic variety, the abundance of natural, historical and cultural places of interest that have contributed to the formation of the high tourism potential of Russia. Horse riding has great social and recreational opportunities, it`s kind of leisure and sports tourism with horses as a means of transportation. Every year the equestrian tourism is becoming increasingly popular, attracting the attention of all categories of the population, thanks to the non-vanishing interest and love for horses. Equestrian tourism combines sports and recreational activities; it contributes to the spiritual and physical development of a person. Riding activates metabolism, prevents excessive fat deposition, it helps to have a correct posture, it strengthens and trains the muscles of the human body. The complex of positive aspects of equestrian tourism is largely determined by its proper organization, in which you must take into account geographical, historical, cultural, economic and social characteristics of each region. Domestic horse tourism has a number of problems including the lack of support from the state, insufficient number of developed equestrian routes, and lack of qualified specialists. Equestrian tourism plays an important role in solving social problems of Belgorod Region.
