Numerous approaches to improving management effectiveness have been developed in management theory and practice. In recent years, researchers and practitioners have actively turned to a competency-based approach to improving management effectiveness, bringing the issue of managerial competence to the forefront. This problem is multifaceted and requires comprehensive study. In particular, this concerns leadership, which is today considered a fundamental management competency. The purpose of this study is to systematize scientific views on the nature and content of managerial competence and identify the potential of leadership in ensuring organizational effectiveness. The study clarified the concepts of competence, professional and managerial competence, and demonstrated the relationship between management and leadership. The components of managerial competence (cognitive, emotional, and behavioral) and organizational effectiveness (strategic, operational, and human capital effectiveness) are identified and substantiated. A matrix was developed that reflects the relationship between the components of organizational effectiveness and the corresponding components of managerial competence, detailing the key knowledge and skills of managers for each block. The role of leadership as a crucial component of managerial competence in enhancing organizational effectiveness through increased human capital effectiveness is substantiated.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Effective management is a critical factor in the successful functioning of organizations.
