The article analyzes the problems of the development of ecological tourism in Baikal region and practical recommendations for the development prospects of this kind of tourism. The authors evaluated the state of the Baikal territory for the development of eco-tourism. Large-scale mass and long-term forest fires on the territories of the region affect the flow of tourists to this region. The authors offer a complex of federal and regional measures for prevention of forest fires, rehabilitation and conservation of natural eco-tourism attraction in the Baikal region. The aim of the study was the SWOT-analysis of the Baikal territory for the development of eco-tourism, which allowed to identify the main problems and prospects of development of this type of tourism. The main methods of the study were: theoretical analysis, problem analysis, statistical analysis. The study developed recommendations for the prevention of fires in Baikal region.
