<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>In the article, the authors analyze the current situation, when tourism development plans are primarily focused on the economic interests of tourism, paying special attention to the satisfaction of visitors, rather than the satisfaction of local residents and improving their quality of life. The article discusses two main interrelated problems of tourist overloaded destinations: a decrease in the quality of life of the local population, and environmental pollution. The author&amp;#39;s definition of the term &amp;quot;overtourism &amp;quot; refers to the unlimited growth of mass tourism, which causes an undesirable impact on the resources of tourist destinations and has a negative impact on the quality of life of local communities. The author proposes a number of measures to manage the tourist destination to improve the quality of life of the local population, including: shifting governments&amp;#39; focus to job creation instead of constantly striving to increase GDP, investing in infrastructure, strengthening control over the number of tourists, protecting the environment, teaching sustainable tourism, targeting wealthier clients, increasing the duration of tourist trips, evenly distributing the tourist flow throughout the year, ending the promotion of congested tourist destinations and supporting local suppliers.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>устойчивое развитие</kwd><kwd>качество жизни</kwd><kwd>окружающая среда</kwd><kwd>овертуризм</kwd><kwd>туристические дестинации</kwd><kwd>туризм</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>sustainable development</kwd><kwd>quality of life</kwd><kwd>environment</kwd><kwd>overtourism</kwd><kwd>tourist destinations</kwd><kwd>tourism</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>Список литературы</title><ref id="B1"><mixed-citation>Amadeo, K.
