THE THEORY AND METHODOLOGY OF THE RECREATIONAL ASSESSMENT OF FOREST GROUNDS BY MEANS
Geographical information systems (GIS) are considered as the main instrument of development of the tourist industry on forest territories as they provide a unique opportunity of continuous update of digital and cartographic materials and databases, modeling options of recreational development with their cartographical representation, applying in arranging and carrying out recreational monitoring, creating a cartographical and information kernel of multipurpose GIS. As a result of studying of methodological fundamentals of recreational geography and experience of use of GIS-technologies in tourism, the list of recreational occupations in forest areas of a forest-steppe zone and types of grounds necessary for realization of this activity was defined, the technique of an assessment of recreational value of lands of the forest fund taking into account provisions of the concept of a sustainable development of tourism, interrelations in the system “a natural complex – engineering constructions – the person” is offered, to functionality of use of these lands and the main properties of natural complexes, as various types of grounds. Different stages of realization of the specified technique are presented in the form of a structural and logical model.
