Professional and life goals of modern youth
The most uncertain stage of human development is youth. During this period, young people experience the greatest status and role uncertainty, being in a situation of multiple social choice. In this regard, the issues of identifying the processes that determine the life choices of young people and allow them to form their identity come to the fore. The methodological basis of the study is a selective sociological survey of young people conducted in 2021 on the territory of the Siberian Federal District. The sample size of the study was 5,092 respondents. The study was implemented by the online survey method (self-completion of the questionnaire). Quantitative data were processed using the statistical data processing package SPSS. As a result, answers were received to questions about the horizons of planning one’s life, target priorities and key success factors. It is absolutely certain that today's youth has a high priority of knowledge and education, defines goals in life, although not for the long term. The distribution of assessments in general indicates that young people consider different factors that lead to success in life, and the assessments are very discordant; it cannot be unequivocally and reasonably stated that there is one key factor that unambiguously guarantees success in life. The conducted research revealed some regional differences, mainly related to career ambitions and professional goals. However, the values associated with family and education did not have territorial features.
